GPW 148498

Frame and engine is original Ford. Original body is American Central Type 1. 6V system. All original dash data plates were missing and replaced with reproductions before I bought it. Before I researched using AAW 1 & 2, I titled and registered it using DOD that previous owner had erroniously stamped on repro data plates. It is titled as a 1942, but I now know with help from the "G" that DOD was 3, 4 or 5 OCT 1943. Very original and complete. Many "F" marked parts and bolts. No known history. Probably was Navy as previous owner/restorer found no hood numbers, just gray paint. Runs well with rebuilt tranny and new brake system. Painted with medium blue hood #s "M4771056" to represent a jeep of HQ Company, 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion, British 6th Airborne Division WW2.
