The serial number came off the registration which indicated first date sold as 1/1/46. The serial number is provided on the original California registration... However, the DOD is a best guess going by the resources available. It's an extremely original jeep.... The frame tag (Down near the bumper gusset) looks to be some sort of rebuild tag. There was some front end damage that was period repaired which would of destroyed the original plate. It still has the original wood block in the front bumper, fire extinguisher and bracket and even had an original Goodyear tire mounted as a spare.
