RXD as trade for Egyptian Hakim semi auto rifle & ammo($130) Guy was asking $400 obo. I guess I finally got a good deal Wrong wheels, no windshield frame,(again!)and rusty floor but titleable and restoreable. Recieved as a barter / hawk / swap / trade / debt dismissal from Stuart Lenzke in Sept 2003 (due in no small part that he also has his hands full with his other GPW). Plans are to eventually bring it down to my location near St. Paul, MN and restore it. Ford script body pretty much in tact, but very rusty in the floors. Oct 2005 - Did a thorough inventory. Except for the engine and steering box (Willys MB), plus a Plymouth heater mounted to the firewall, it seems to be all GPW. Started some minor component removal for restoration (i.e. carburetor). The body is too far gone to repair due to metal fatigue and rust, but the rest can - and will be - restored. Dec 2005 - Restoration started on the frame. Sanding the hood (barely) revealed the number - 20112828. If GPW 17963 on this list is any indication, this is a Chester, PA built GPW. May 2009: Obtained the body tub from GPW 39876 (see listing) for use on this GPW. Frame is generally refurbished. Transmission & transfer case is being restored by local expert in T84's. Sept. 2017: Correct GPW block has been sourced, machined and is ready for rebuild. October 2017: Body sent to MN to be worked on.
