From what I've found out. It was purchased surplus in New Jersey. And back in the 60's for some reason he wasn't allowed by the state to tag it. So for some unknown reason he came up with the idea to title it as a 48 CJ2a. He put it back together using CJ2A & MB parts. I'm currently in the midst of a complete frame off and body resto. Year 3 and counting. Frame and motor mounted together. Getting closer.
