Previously started frame off restoration beginning in 2001. Made it to rolling chassis by 2003 then acquired and installed engine,GPW-I5440. Engine bolt-ons completed late 2006. Test run of engine was completed. Then bad news after several static runnings, the engine developed tick then knocking noise. Rebuild was sub-standard and completely stalled my restoration. Took bottom end off to check bearings. Restoration abondoned due to illness and demise of parents from 2007 to 2012. Now early 2015 and Starting over. Path forward is to clean, restore, and repair engine. Hope to regain the spirit as a memorial to my late father (WW2, Korea, VietNam vet).
