The Jeep is in a very original condition. It has an original 1947/48?/49? UK civil registration. The frame and motor numbers are matching. 95 % of the F-marked parts are there and the body has never been off the frame (lock nuts are still there !) The bonding points are showing the tin and have at some places not been painted. The Jeep came from the UK to Germany in 1992. On a side note, there are two more GPWs in Germany with matching numbers close to 213313, namely GPW 213258 and 213256 (featured in E. Beckers book, p.145), all three in top condition. What strange coincident lies behind this? Gavin Birch also has a 213... with a "German" history...I would love to get in touch with GPWs with matching numbers close to 213..., maybe we can establish why this batch survived in such a good condition... The picture shows the Jeep in the 1995 exhebition "Hamburg 1945" in the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, opened by HRH Prince Charles..!
