DoD and Serial Number are stamped on the dataplate on the dash. Since acquisition, everything except tires, canvas, fenders, windshield, tub, grill, and seat frames has been replaced. Electrical system is still 6 Volt. As bought, the jeep had CJ-3A engine with casting number 641087-L-W-12-A NICR-N2. Journal bearings seized in May, 2004. A newly rebuilt Willys engine (MB-636000) dated August 1, 1945 was installed in its place. Also had an early Ford GPW-7006 T-84A transmission, since replaced with a T-84J A-1 transmission. All gauges are reproductions. Steering box is WoF, as is the voltage regulator (dated 1961). Bumper numbers we've added are for the 29th Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop, 29th Infantry Division.
