I had seen the jeep twenty five years earlier, at that time it was not for sale. Stored on a dirt floor in an old building since 1957 and never started. When the door of the building opened, it was like a time capsule, seeing the jeep in its original condition, still with the ax & shovel strapped to the side. Factory engine: cast date 12-10. Still painted OD with registration number on the hood. Stenciled in white on dash: RELEASE EMERGENEY BRAKE BEFORE MOVING VEHICLE Stenciled in white on inside of windsheld panel: 35 MPH MAX. 20 MPH NITE: 20 MPH POST: TIRE PRES. DAILY 30 LBS. Stenciled in white in all four wheel wells: 30 LBS. Bunper markings:AGFRD2-X 52....52nd vehicle of Army Ground Forces Replacement Depot #2, at Ft.Ord,Ca. All four factory Goodyear S3, red dot Military tires on the wheels. Factory original canvas zipper seat cushions, w/springs. Early GPW canvas top. 5 gallon gas can bracket bolted to right side on step behind front fender. Bracket welded to rear gas can bracket for placard. Halftrack type vacumn wiper motor on drivers side of windsheld, and rear view mirror attached to center of windsheld. Came with a set of Weed tire chains in rear tool box. The jeep came with two new MB engines still in the crate. One had red tag wired to generator "inspected" 12-29-44. The other crate has never been opened and the engine is a January 1945, with serial number wrote in grease pencil on out side of crate. Also received a new GPW transfer case still in the crate. Enclosed in the purchase was a 1/4-ton trailer
