Bought as a project in fair condition, fairly complete, matching numbers and dataplates original to this period Jeep: brass, steel, brass. No hood number found (yet) BUT on the 10th of April 2005 I got a telephone call that a document stated that this jeep was sold off in Columbus, Ohio for the sum of $650 in July of 1946 and the original hood number was on that ducument as well: 20186295 !! THANKS JAAP !!Most likely this GPW never left US soil in her lifetime (as so many 1942 Jeeps is my guess, this is a nice topic to discuss !!). Update December 2005: completely taken apart, removed all the bubba stuff (about 100 kg/220 pounds !!), looking not bad at all ! Update, December 2010: Frame and tub came back from the blaster, will be restored professionally early 2011. Engine was rebuilt in 2008. Update 2017: all separate components are restored and primed, ready for paint and assembly.
