This Jeep was modified for an old chrysler industrial straight 6 cylinder engine. It has a T90 transmission and CJ3A transfer case that compliments the added torque. There were major changes to the front and rear bumpers and most accessories are mising. I've discarded the worn out straight 6 and installed a GM 2.8 liter V6. A very smooth and dependable motor that is easy to get parts for. Added hidden frame supports/gussets at suspension mounts, easily removable roll bars. Update: All is going well and many thanks to G503 contributors and the Jeepdraw guys. Replaced lots of sheet metal to original (Jee Panels). The cover for the T90 shift tower has been interesting. Made the fuel well and tool box bottoms out of stainless steel, should last longer. Update #2: The body work was much more effort than I imagined, but worth it. Just finished assembly and drove it for the first time. Only issue was a sticky thermostat that was easily swapped out. Externally, the Jeep looks like it was just driven out of the Ford factory. But under the hood is a bigger power plant that doesn't sound much like a Jeep. Update #3: Finished my matching 43 Bantam T3 trailer. I really enjoy showing them both at local antique car shows. I even picked up a few trophies. I do a great demonstration and slide show for the High School history classes. And I usually drive it to work if the weather is nice. Best of all is to chaufer the WWII Vets in parades. They sign my log book and sometimes add a real WWII jeep story. I guess I've found a few good things for an old jeep to do! And it's a lot of fun for me and my wife.
