GPW 4880

This jeep is an early Script Ford body, with a Willys style frame. I have discovered the original registration number in blue drab on both the hood and rear panel. This GPW was built at Ford's Louisville, KY plant under contract W-398-qm-10977 (Ford index 42-100). It was part of the first 15,000 units of the original government contract with Ford. This jeep's proper restoration will have to wait until I get GPW 104111 near completed, then will be restored as close to factory as I can get her. The engine listed is one that came from a lot of engines I purchased locally. The jeep currently has a CJ motor installed. If anyone happens to locate this jeep's original motor, please feel free to e-mail me at Swoop737@aol.com. Thanks again to Jim Gilmore for providing the factory information!
