MB 164422

This Jeep resided in the US until 2003, so cannot have seen action in WW2. Its military service record is sadly not known, nor its hood number, but it was allegedly owned by Universal Studios at one time. It moved from Fort Worth, Texas to the UK in 2003 and was restored to excellent running order by Bob Lindsay. The current owner acquired it from Bob in February 2004. It has an original chassis, tub, engine block and most of its original drive train, but the wheels, canvas and data plates are reproduction. The current owner is a US Airborne enthusiast and has marked it up as 505th PIR, 82nd Airborne, one of America's finest. It finally made it to France for the 60th D-Day anniversary celebrations in June 2004, at Sainte Mere Eglise in Normandy, where it proudly stood outside "The Greatest Generation" memorial exhibition for 10 days.
