I have spent over three years redoing this jeep. I have been burned several times with so called mechanics and sutlers of parts. I hope some of you out there have had better luck than I have with trusting people with their word in doing the things most of us cannot do such as engine and axle rebuilding. Best thing I can tell others in this hobby if a price sounds like too good of a deal on work or a part usually it is and you will get your heart broke in the end. This happened to me at a cost of 3100 dollars buying an engine that was a shake and bake job that crapped out on me with rods knocking at 145 miles. This engine was supposedly guranteed from a family buisness of WW2 Jeep engine rebuilders and suppliers out of Oregon. Once I informed them of the problem I was quickly rebuked and have yet to hear from them again. When I get that engine rebuilt after I paid them for a rebuilt engine it will have cost me aound 7000. Their are legitimate suppliers out their that are a little more expensive. I found their stuff and their word is not crap. I have learned that dealing with the supplier out of New York Pete Debella is what I should of done in the first place his parts and services have yet to let me down. Brent Mullins in Texas is also another great supplier of good stuff. Best of luck out their to the rest of you jeepers I look forward to getting mine back out on the road soon. Update :feel free to email my friend to get his take on then at dnkosovo@aol.com for more info. I would like to talk with others who have had similar dealings / disapointments with those individuals in question for possible further action email me dustrider225@yahoo.com
