the body is clearly a ford GPW, it has the raised script "Ford" on the left rear corner, the frame is equally clearly an MB, the motor is wrong, my guess is it's from a later model jeep (cj-3b?), it is a 4 cylinder, overhead cam engine, it is too tall to fit under the hood, resulting in someone cutting a hole in the hood for the carburetor/air cleaner to stick through
