Restoration has begun. This is a very decent 1944 MB. It has its original USA registration number on the hood. It is also a former US Navy jeep. Navy registration number is USN 122XXX. Markings on the windshield reads "AD COM PHIBS PAC". The engine did not come with the jeep, it was a later acquistion...its in the correct range for this MB however. The casting date is 9-28 and the machining date stamped on the oil pan surface is 9-30-44. Both front and rear axles are dated 10-9-44. Date of Delivery is a best guess based on the axle dates and other close MB's.
