Willys MB 459512

This 1945 jeep MB-NAVY BASIC s/n 459512 DOD 10-10-45 is one of the few (only?) such 1945 Navy/Marine Corps MB-NB radio jeeps found to date. Had Auto-Lite waterproof ignition system, venting system and deep water fording system installed at factory. Had 12 volt auxiliary generator between seats and batteries behind seats installed at factory to operate radios. The body was punched at factory (like MB-MZ-1 and MZ-2) for installation of Navy TCS radio set. Fuel filter on engine fire wall. Was upgraded in 1947 to Navy CVD-10182-D radio jeep. 1945 MB-NAVY BASIC radio jeep 459512 was waterproof from factory and has latest known DOD of 10-10-45. Engine CJ2A-17117 cast 9-14-45 has military carburetor but GPW head so ? whether original. 12 volt auxiliary generator cast bracket is between seats.
