Ford GPW 267714
Im starting a restoration on my Grandpas jeep and hoping to learn more about its individual history. The story he told is that it was sold surplus and used to pick up golf balls at Golden Gate Fields in Berkely, Ca before it was used as a hunting jeep in the 60s. Its painted off white now, with no visible markings. I can see olive drab paint as well as remnants of fluorescent orange. Also found some deer tags in the glove box from 1964.
Im hoping to restore it in Navy colors unless I find out that it was originally something extra special. It needs a complete teardown and nut-and-bolt restoration as it sat untouched in my grandpas Berkeley, Ca. back yard for nearly 30 years.
