The frame serial number leads me to believe that this GPW was built mid to late in 1942. The jeep did not have a engine and the tranny was in the front floor when I bought it. Also the grill, hood and window frame appears to be off a early cj. The rest of the body is rough but restorable. The data plate is rusted out completely. Work on this jeep, located in Viroqua, WI, began on 21 Dec 2010 and continues. I have another 1942 GPW that I am working on in Flordia. I am always open to suggestions, comments, advise or tips on restoring old jeeps. Or just "shoot the breeze about jeeps" You may contact me thru this website.
