MB 331971

One of three and a half MB's and an australian No. 4 jeep trailer being offered for sale here in Sydney that I went and had a look at, located in the suburb of Cabramatta. No engines or gearboxes and most of the diffs were missing. All were in an extremely deteriorated state, bent, broken, and above all very very rusty. I did not buy them but merely recorded their serial numbers for posterity (and this list). Perhaps the buyer will one day enter the full details here... The jeeps had been purchased after the war from the Australian Army, and used by an earthmoving firm, where they were being offered for sale. The company had had about 15 or 20 jeeps. Only one chassis had a frame tag, two others had aluminium nomenclature plates and the half-body was missing the glovebox. This jeep, s/n 331971 is the second from the foreground in the picture (labelled '2').
