The jeep was bought by my grandfather in 1965, we know the history of it very well. It was at Camp Beale, near Marysville, and when it became Beale Air Force Base, it was repainted by the Air Force (blue) in 1948 or so. It was sold to Marysville, CA fire department in 1957, (and painted red) and in 1962, the fire chief bought it from the department for his son, and had it painted a silver green, with black pen stripping. My grandfather bought it from him in 1965. Unfortunately, it was flooded in 1997, during the levee break south of Marysville. I am in the process of restoring it. The Beale AFB history person confirms that they repainted several jeeps blue when the Air Force became its own military branch, they were used mostly by officers. I hope to have a full restoration done by the end of 2013. Jeep has the holes for a radio behind the drivers seat, first aid bracket holes in dash, vacuum wipers. Grease gun mount under hood, and no lube chart or holes for one.
