I acquired this Script '42 and two '43 GPW's in '10, saving them from the scrap yard, Though I am not putting the '42 back to factory standars I am giving it a final shot at life. It's destiny will be my daily driver, preserve U.S. History for some, and pay respects to family members who had served in WW2. I recieved the jeep as a stripped, bondo and rust tub, with a less than usable frame. But with a little inginuity and creativity this jeep will be what I've wanted for many many years. I would really love to find out about this jeeps life prior to 2001. At which time it left Forest Grove,OR, alledgedly heading to be parted out and scrapped (which is when the jeep and data plate parted ways, I found a gentleman here on the "G" who was trying to reunite the data plate he had acquired back to the jeep, I found him and the data plate only 3 1/2 hrs from my home. A little horse trading and the data plate and jeep are back together.
