Engine not original, although correct type (4-cylinder side-valve "L-head"). Most other mechanical parts believed to be original. Tires, canvas/ seats, fuel tank and body side handles are all good quality reproductions. Spare wheel and jerrycan are not original type. Paint and stencilling on dashboard are original, carefully revealed by scraping away several layers of paint. Numbers stencilled on hood are reproduction of the original style - thought to be correct for this vehicle serial number. Originally from New Mexico (probably a US Army base), this Jeep appears to have done service later with the Albuquerque Fire Department (it had an old sticker and red paint over the army olive drab), and was later used for hunting (all data plates had been removed and vertical rifle racks were installed). From about 1972, it sat idle on a farm near Albuquerque. May be for sale soon: call Jonathan +1 (865) 691-5859 [Knoxville, Tennessee, USA]
