Welcome to my Willys MB Jeep info I am from Fort William Scotland I finally got my Willys MB dated 1944 with the original chassis plate to May 1944 MB329601 and after stripping the front end of I found the body number visible 55432 Body work is good for the year with little of Bubba's handy work except a couple of patches on the front floor and a hole made with a burning torch in the rear where they rerouted the fuel tank Bubba was a tall guy he's cut the rear box arches and rewelded a plate in so his big ass will fit in the seat further back Bubba was handy with the burning torch on the bonnet when he found out the replacement hurricane engine was taller than the original unit and that's one panel I intend to reuse and restore back as good as I can get and fit a new hinge All running gear is MB original apart from the Hurricane bellhousing ,T84 ,T18 both axles are complete apart from the right hand front has an odd hub fitted not sure what year it's from but I know is getting binned The engine bay isn't complete as much as I wanted ,no started ,no generator ,no fuel filter housing on the bulkhead and no regulator , The hurricane engine is getting resold good spares engine either that or use it as a boat anchor ,I got an MB engine with the vehicle sale engine number is MB248583 I been told there's a cast number for the year but I haven't looked yet Dash items missing include light switches and choke all clocks are complete but not been checked Chassis is solid and split free only thing missing on it is the rear pintle hook reinforcer and rear crossmember is missing ,it has a couple of odd looking brackets welded on the chassis ends All rear lights missing and fitted with CJ versions and Bubba's nicked the headlight and used them for his pig shed light Nothing is left of the hood or hood hoops and brackets or clips So far I've owned the jeep nearly 2wks and I've stripped the front end of and unbolted the body of ,screen has been removed Disconnected the clutch/brake pedals removed the steering wheel and steering box ,all wiring and pipes needed to remove the tube were disconnected and noted down in a diagram in the magic note book Over all I'm delighted with the jeep it's condition is better than I expected and with the money save buying panels I can buy new starter and Dynamo Any question please ask
