This is a September 1944 MB I saved from being parted out further and exported to Europe. I convinced the former owner to sell it to me. The jeep was located in Oregon which is interesting since there are several MB's close to my serial number that are located on the West Coast of the USA. The MB had already been partially parted out but I will find original parts to replace them. Body is really solid and it should make a good restoration candidate. Hood number is an estimate based on other MB's in the same serial number range. Transmission assembly date is J1 44D (Sept 1, 1944) and the bell housing has a cast date of 9-6. I suspect that both of these items may be original to the vehicle. Looking for an MB motor cast in late August 1944 with approximate serial number of MB-465XXX.
