This jeep is currently being restored. The engine, transmission, gearbox and dataplates were missing.
I found out that the jeep was sold at the W.A.A. SF Bay area jeep sale to veterans at may 17th 1946. I found OD painted over with forrest green and a few yellow markings under which the brand of MCB Camp Pendleton South California. I assume that the jeep was a standard MB issued to the USMC. It is most likely that the jeep was a base vehicle.
I got an estimated Hood Number from Tom W. which is 20606150. I'd like to get the Hood Number a little more accurate if I can, so if anyone with a Jeep is near my serial number with an original Hood Number, I'd like to hear about it.
I am also still looking for a good estimate of the USMC number, photos of Camp Pendleton jeeps or I would like to get in touch with other Camp Pendleton jeep owners. I know there are at least 2 other Camp Pendleton jeeps.
Finally, if there is someone who can help me with small items to dress the jeep with, for example a period correct window sticker from the MCB, then I would be recommended. You can reach me on the G503 forum under the name Michel. Thank you and enjoy your jeep!
