found this MB on Facebook in Westtown, NY and gentle was selling the Plow only. but convineced him to sell the whole Jeep to me. so far alot original parts but it went thru rearsonal program. so drivetrain is original with the frame. the tub and hood was replaced after the war it looks like. the gentlemen i bought it off. got it from a state sale in a barn in Westtown NY area. Does not have correct engine. was replaced with Hurricane Engine. rear seat was missing. some gauges have been replaced with CJ parts.
after doing research and finding the US contract number. the MB was assigned to 2nd Armored Ordnanace Maintenance Battalion. Hood # 20241787. Contract # US W303 ORD 2532.
still trying to find if this stayed in the states during the war or was shipped overseas into any campaigns.
plans are to restore it back to the original DOD. since the Jeep is 80 years old. will post pictures once completed.
