MB 130677

The vehicle was in the first shipment of 250 jeeps to arrive in Australia. It arrived in the State of Victoria in April-May 1942 and was assembled at the Victoria Lines of Communication (LoC) Ordnance Workshops, Broadmeadows. The vehicle was issued with the Army Registration Number 79642 (Hood number). Not know if it saw overseas service.

The vehicle was disposed of by the Australian Army from Brisbane Ordinance Depot, Queensland, on the 27th of November 1959. The last recorded engine fitted prior to it's disposal was MB209584. The vehicle was recorded to be a General Service Welder at the time of disposal.

The vehicle was next recorded to be in private hands in Sydney, New South Wales where it had undergone extensive renovations in the late 80s.

The vehicle was on-sold to a collector as part of a deceased estate in early 2023 before I purchased it in May 2023.

In June 2024, the drivetrain underwent restoration. The date stamp on the sump surface is stamped 9/14/41. However the serial number on the oval boss on the side of the block is MB303710. The surface of the boss appear to have been machined and the engine number re-stamped.
