GPW 136787

In October 2014 I bought my 1943 Ford GPW from James Rivers of Dallas Autoparts in Berkshire UK.  James had made a real professional job of restoring it.  My first journey was in the spring of 2015 to the Yorkshire Military Vehicle Trust "Crank Up" in York, 45 miles from where I live. The Jeep ran superbly & the photograph shows it at that event on the YMVT display area outside the Castle Museum in York.  Later that spring I took the Jeep to the YMVT "Battle Group North" event held at the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington, York.  Here it won "Best In Class" in the Jeep category.   Since then I've taken the Jeep to many 40's events.  It broke a gear tooth in 2017 & required a new battery in 2021.  Apart from that the Jeep has had no problems. It is fitted with a Willys MB engine.
