I picked up this jeep from a ranch in Wyoming. Upon restoration I discovered it was a USMC radio jeep (not MKZ) off the assembly line. It was set up for amphibious landings. Snorkel hole in the hood, exhaust pipe (old welds vis) ran up driver's side near windshield. Gas cap had a vented line soldered in. M48 machine gun dash mount holes present.
There was a radio set up behind driver. Also radio antenna base MP50 (just holes) on driver's side behind wheel opening. It had a RL-31 wire reel at one point mounted behind seats. Spare was moved to passenger side rear.
No numbers found on tub etc. "Kommunications" or Kommunicator" was stenciled in USMC yellow on windshield frame. Now rebadged as 1st ID, 16 IR Army. There were no
